I jumped on this deal and am happy I got the Elite II while I did. Obviously this is their updatex scale as it now weighs up 400 pounds. I am 360 pounds and tall. This scale is replacing my Eatmart which was good while it lasted, but now obviously overprized based on this new model.

Eureka 313A Enviro Hard-Surface Floor Steamer Review

I previously had a Shark Steam Mop which was very light and easy to use. The heating element went out in just one year, so did a little research and decided to try Eureka Enviro. It gets much hotter, but is heavier. It is also easier to fill and holds more water, so less time refilling. The tray you have to keep at the ready to rest the steamer on is a little issue, but I do like the unit better. I would like to see these units have a little longer cord. Overall, I am pleased with the Eureka.

I researched vaccuums for about 2 hours before deciding on this one. I wanted a bagged vaccuum b/c it seemed that the bagless created more mess when you empty them and a lot of them have expensive HEPA filters to replace. I wanted to spend less than 0 also. I decided to play the odds and get this vaccuum. So far I have only used it once, but it works amazing. It sucks stuff up powerfully on my laminate floors and on my high-pile area rugs. You can even change the level of the vaccuum based on the floor type. When you select high pile, it’s easy to vaccuum flimsy area rugs. I am very VERY happy with my purchase and just hope that it keeps up for the next few years. I definitely recommend this vaccuum. It is lightweight, easy to put together, and overall really easy to use.

I first heard about this product by visiting the Loving Naturals website to order some of their sunscreen (also fabulous). It was a brand new product so I figured I would give it a try. Honestly, I was excited to receive it, but doubtful that a bunch of aromatic oils, witch hazel, aloe, and sea salt were actually going to keep mosquitos from biting. Boy was I wrong!

The product itself comes in a 4oz. pump spray bottle that is the perfect size for stuffing into my diaper bag or purse. It is a white liquid in the bottle (shake well before use), but does not spray white or leave any sort of filmy or oily residue on clothing. The smell is really nice – kind of reminds me of a “new age” candle store. It is a strong smell at first but fades a bit with time. However, the effectiveness does not. We spray it on just before dusk and it lasts well into the night. As the label promises, it is not sticky and dries quickly as well.

Aside from the effectiveness and safety of this product, I really like supporting a company like Loving Naturals. A visit to their website will tell you that they place quality and safety above all else. They do not use any animal-derived ingredients nor do they test any of their products on animals. They fully disclose all ingredients and use organic whenever possible. Here is a small, family-owned honest company creating amazing products that are safe, effective, and afforadable. Some of the few negative reviews of this product seem to complain that their knife doesn’t hold an edge beyond a few uses. Well, to keep the razor sharp edge that this product puts on a piece of high quality cutlery will require frequent sharpening. Ever seen a barber who has to use the razor strop every time he gives a shave – same principle. If you’re using cheap knives, then don’t expect this to be a miracle worker. You need high quality carbon steel to take the proper edge. Used on the right kind of knife, I can skin a tomato with the edge this leaves behind!

I’ve used professional powered sharpeners with a three stage process that can’t put a better edge than this little hand held device. I keep one in my tool box, one in the kitchen and one in my tackle box. We give them at Christmas as presents and get rave reviews from the recipients. You might get the same finish with a stone and an hours worth of work but why would you?

Black & Decker PHV1800CB 18-Volt Pivoting-Nose Cordless Energy-Star Handheld Vacuum Cleaner Review

In terms of suction power, this is the best portable vac we have ever seen or used. It really works great! We bought two of these a couple of years ago (one for upstairs, one for downstairs), and now just bought two more to replace the originals. Obviously we like them, in spite of the drawbacks.

What are the drawbacks? The biggest is that these vacs use NiCad batteries, and NiCads must be FULLY discharged each time before recharging. Repeated small partial charges reduce the battery capacity. So don’t use the vac for just a short time and then return it to the charger — use it for a long time or for multiple times until it begins to run noticeably slower, before recharging. We had to replace our original, perfectly-good-otherwise units because they got to the point where they would only run for a few seconds before the batteries were essentially exhausted. As a practical matter, the batteries are not replaceable and it is easier and more economical to simply buy new units.

Other, smaller quibbles: The vac is quite noisy when running (maybe that’s just part of being powerful), and emptying the dirt/dust compartment can be messy until you develop a proper technique.

Overall, the performance is more important than the drawbacks in our opinion, and we recommend these units. We’re going to be more careful with battery charging this time, and hope to get many years of good service from them.
